The Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), No. 2 of 2000, was enacted to uphold the constitutional right to access information held by the State or any other party when it is necessary for exercising or protecting one’s rights. In simple terms, this legislation empowers individuals to obtain information needed for fair and informed engagement with public and private entities.

At NTCSA, we are committed to transparency and accountability. Adhering to PAIA is not just about meeting legal requirements but about embracing the principles of open information and stakeholder engagement. By proactively complying with PAIA, NTCSA ensures that our operations align with legislative standards, protecting both our business interests and the rights of those who interact with us.

Our approach to compliance is driven by a few core principles:

  • Staying Informed – NTCSA continuously monitors legislative changes and evaluates their impact on our business. We prioritise adapting our practices to meet or exceed current legal standards.
  • Policy Integration – Legislative requirements, such as those from PAIA, are embedded within our policies, procedures and standards. This helps ensure that compliance is a foundational part of our organisational processes.
  • Commitment to Governance – Compliance with PAIA enables us to manage information responsibly and transparently. This commitment to information governance enhances accountability, reinforces trust and supports efficient information management within NTCSA.

Compliance with PAIA is an opportunity for NTCSA to enhance the coordination of information flow in and out of our organisation. Beyond a legal obligation, it is a strategic advantage, helping us to build a more integrated and holistic approach to information management. Through compliance, NTCSA aims to foster trust with stakeholders, maintain transparency and create a culture of accountability across our operations.

In line with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), NTCSA is committed to transparency and providing access to information when needed. However, to ensure efficient service and meet our obligations, please review the following guidance before submitting a request.
